David Visser (1985) / baritone

Dutch bariton David Visser studied with Carolyn Watkinson at Codarts Rotterdam and with Sasja Hunnego at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague before continuing his studies with Hunnego at the Dutch National Opera Academy. He has participated in master classes with many great singers and teachers including Ira Siff, Wolfgang Holzmair, Meinard Kraak.
As a concert singer, David has been a soloist in Bach’s St. Matthew and St. John Passions , Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem. He also premiered several contemporary pieces and performed the part of the narrator in Honegger’s Roi David. In collaboration with pianist Mark van Nispen, David was a finalist in the MUSICO Song competition and won the Song prize of the festival Vocallis.
