Throughout the year DNOA presents a rich schedule of public performances which include full productions, programmes of staged scenes and concerts. These serve as both a platform where the singers can enhance their profile as well as being a practical way by which to acquire and polish a broad and useful repertoire.
The DNOA has over the years developed strategic partnerships with a number of prominent Dutch orchestras and promoters which play an important role in the performance opportunities DNOA creates. In particular, the academy enjoys a long-standing relationship with the Residentie Orkest The Hague which co-produces fully-staged operas with the DNOA on a regular basis, the most recent being Handel’s Radamisto in 2019. Other regular orchestral partners include the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra for annual performances at the Bredeweg Festival Amsterdam and the National Youth Orchestra of The Netherlands (NJO) which has been co-producer of the DNOA summer production for several years in succession.
In addition to the above, DNOA performs with ensembles from both the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and
The Royal Conservatory in The Hague. The DNOA maintains close ties with both the Dutch National Opera where the DNOA singers feature in the long-established lunchtime concert series and the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam. A newly instigated collaboration in 2019/20 sees DNOA present three late-night programmes of staged scenes together with Entrée (the youth organisation of the Concertgebouw).
